About the Role:
Salus Ventures, Australia’s leading national resilience focused venture capital fund is offering an exciting opportunity for a highly capable and driven Operations Associate to join our team in Sydney.
In this dynamic full-time role, you will work closely with the Fund’s Founding Partners to support day-to-day operations and drive high value initiatives across the team. You’ll be at the heart of the Fund’s activity, helping to optimise and coordinate internal operations, manage strategic events, and promote Salus to a broad range of stakeholders across government, industry, and the investment community.
A strong candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, self aware, kind and enthusiastic about the deep tech and national resilience sectors. Prior experience or interest in Australia’s startup or VC ecosystem is highly desirable.
A key aspect of this role is community building and event design / delivery, including organising and attending Salus’ annual investor delegation to the United States.

Core Duties:
GP support: Provide assistance to the General Partners via coordination and communications. Attend meetings and ensure effective follow-through on action items.
Team support: Provide general support to the broader investment team.
Social media and marketing: Responsible for external communications and helping to shape the Fund’s external voice and digital presence including LinkedIn posting.
Event planning and coordination: Play a critical role in organising key events for stakeholders including investors, portfolio companies and the wider innovation community.
Annual investor delegation: In concert with the team, responsible for designing, planning and execution of our annual investor delegation to the United States, liaising with the highest levels of industry, government and academic stakeholders.
Research: Provide policy and investment research support on ad-hoc topics to assist the General Partners and investment team.
Reporting: Contribute to internal reporting, including communications to the fund’s investors and utilisation of typical venture portfolio management tools such as Notion and Affinity.
Special projects: Support the delivery of special projects such as Salus startup accelerator programs, marketing campaigns for portfolio companies, portfolio recruitment and writing and design of grant-based projects.
Team building: Champion team building activities to help promote a positive and collaborative team culture.
Operational processes: Assess and improve the Fund’s operational processes as part of our continual improvement program.
Key Attributes:
2-5 years of relevant experience in operations, executive support, strategic communications or events – experience in VC, startups, tech or government an advantage.
Interested in self development and learning
Highly organised and comfortable managing a wide range of tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with event organisation helpful.
Embodies a self-starter approach: highly proactive and capable of solving problems with speed and agility.
Capability across the Google Suite.
